Last summer Kevin Hebert, R.G., a key SGC hydrogeologist and environmental specialist, played hooky from his job in order to hike the entire 2,185 miles of the Appalachian Trail spanning 14 states from Georgia to Maine.
Kevin estimated it would take 4 months (135 days) to complete the trek and finished just 5 days over that goal. Of the thousands of hikers who attempt this trek every year, roughly only one in four are able to finish. Kevin returned to the office in early September 2014 – 20 pounds lighter but richer in spirit for the experience. Congratulations Kevin! Glad to have you back.
